The body of law and controls requiring regulated firms to detect, prevent and report the movement of criminal proceeds.
Why it matters
It is the frame most crypto regulation is built on. Customer identification, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening and the Travel Rule are all AML obligations, and they explain most of the friction a user meets at a regulated venue.
What you can check
These are obligations on the firm, not on the customer, but their existence is public: the applicable regime, the supervising authority, and any enforcement history are all matters of record in the firm’s home jurisdiction.
Not advice. Definitions are for understanding, not instruction. Nothing here is financial, legal, tax or security advice.
