Timelock

A mandatory delay between a privileged action being approved and being executed.

Why it matters

A timelock defeats attacks that depend on holding power for a single transaction — which is exactly how the Beanstalk governance attack worked. It also gives users notice of an upgrade before it takes effect. Whether a contract has one is public and checkable.

Not advice. Definitions are for understanding, not instruction. Nothing here is financial, legal, tax or security advice.
